So with 22 Tracks, 12’000 feet of skydive, 2 hours of slamming Trance and 1 amazing day – this is the Impact DJs Trance & Progressive Podcast Episode 057 with me Andy Jackson.

Anyway this week has been something special. For the first time ever I undertoook a sky dive today in the name of the Southend on Sea Bosom Pals Appeal (a local Breast Cancer charity) and I have to say it was amazing, maybe even life changing. It happened literally 6 hours ago as I write this! Anyway me and 9 other colleagues & friends completed our jumps at 12’000 feet today and OMG was it awesome! We have also raised over £2000 for the charity which we are all really proud of. Im still sitting here smiling!

Anyway so onto the Music – this week, rather than conduct our usual shout of a 2 hour showcase of the latest Trance & Progressive, I have instead decided to SMASH out a mix containing only Euphoric Trance. I think you will understand the tone of this weeks mix when you hear the opening track!

I want to take this oppurtunity to again thank all of our supporters around the world – currently Impact DJs see’s around 1500 – 2000 downloads a week. Me and Minorthreat have been blown away with how many people subscribe – I hope you people enjoy listening to some of the amazing music that we both love, our aim had always been to deliver Trance & Progressive to the masses, I hope you will agree this mix summizes our passion for the Trance scene.

With another late night and a bag full of tunes – this is Impact DJs Trance & progressive podcast Episode 056 with me Andy Jackson.

So yes another late night Trance & Progressive podcast from London, England although this week its definately more on the progressive side. This week on the releases we have tracks from the likes of George Acosta, Jordan Suckley, TyDi, Tritonal, Thrillseekers, Benya, Adam Kancerski, Oza, Gery Rydell, Ronski Speed, Tigran Oganezov, Impulsive Drive & many more!

Being pushed for time this week ive literally had to purchase the tracks and mix them straight off – check that out for a bit of true DJing skill. One track that stand out for me this week has to be Thrillseekers – Song for Sendai (Impact DJs got a PR request to play this), this song is dedicated to the poor people affected by the Japan Earthquake disaster.

What else, theres a track in there by Tiesto & Mark Knight which is pretty good, nice to see Tiesto pulling a decent track. Also some nice vocals from Tritonal feat. Meredith Call – To Be Loved.

So we are back once again with episode 055 and for me this week something a little bit special. Me and Skorpio went to see Above & Beyond @ The Gallery on Friday 1st April for their Sun & Moon single tour and damn it was messy! Yep Above & Beyond back in London city and we got tickets, all in all it was a good night. In tribute to such a good night out, I have ensured a lot of the tracks that went off for me that night are here in the podcast!

The highlights of the night for me were hearing the track on the intro of the podcast – a track called Erick Strong – Orchids, great club track through a loud sound system! Also, a classic track remixed again in the form of Ferry Corsten – Digital Punk (Arty Rock & Rolla Remix). The biggest moment for me though was hearing Super8 & Tab start the last set at 4am with My Enemy (Rank 1 Remix), that was amazing! Great producers!

Anyway so over to this week’s releases? Well, there’s quite a mixed bag in here this week, partly lead by the sets I heard at The Gallery but here goes;

A&B – Sun & Moon – had to play it – not making excuses. Good track A&B but don’t do a Tiesto and go completely commercial. Best track on here, without doubt is Meridian – Shifter, not heard of this artist but this track is VERY good – watch this space. Last two on the list have to be MaRLo – Semtex, really different prog break on this one, and finally Taras Bazeev & Maxim Yurin – Moon City, very different sound once again.

Now on our milestone 50th episode and with over 20,000 downloads a month, this is Impact DJs Trance & Progressive podcast with me, Andy Jackson.

Hello once again and welcome to the 50th episode of our ever expanding podcast. Episode 50 marks a real milestone for us, we are now approaching our first full year in business and what a year it’s been!

Phew that’s a tracklist and a half right?! Welcome to Impact 046, this is Andy Jackson on the mix this week, bringing you lots of new trance & progressive 2011 releases. Starting up with Super 8 & Tab – My Enemy (Rank 1 Remix), my favourite 2011 release so far. Great vocal on that track, I think it’s going to be very popular. Also liking the new track from Cliff Coenraad, Booty Slam is a proper dirty club track!

Also this week on the podcast, a few tracks played again from last week, Ayleon – Glory Silence (Xspective Sense Remix), another great vocal. Saint X – Rain Maker (Ian Solano Remix), a weird tribal vocal on this one that I really like, not heard this played enough recently.

Oh by the way look out for a very old classic track at the end!

Yes happy new year listeners, I trust its been a good start to the year so far! I just want to take a minute to thank our guest mixer from last week, Shiraz Habib for his progressive mix marathon, we felt that starting the new year on a chilled Impact Deep mix would do the trick for all those party hangovers, it certainly was a good set Shiraz!

But now we look forward to 2011, new tracks, new labels, new goals and expectations. In the latest edition I have worked hard hunting down the best of the best of 2011s releases so far and I can certainly say a lot of labels haven’t slacked off for the start of the new year.

My favourite tracks this week I feel are, Lifeserzh & Hakan Ludvigson – My Friend Is Calling (feat. Eve Justine) – EP (opening track), nice vocals, I think this is going to be very popular online. Also another favourite for me was Tony Palmer – Loved You For 2 Weeks (D-Force Mix), kind of a cheesy vocal but I think it works! Feel free to tell me otherwise!

Stepping up into the Trance side of things, favourite tracks on that side have to be ReOrder – Citybeats (Ferry Tayle Remix), great track that. Also Vast Vision – Ambrosia (Arctic Moon Remix), again huge Euphoric note on that.

As always, xmas is a time for reflection and to be with loved ones. I had an amazing day with my mum and my sister and enjoyed a good old pub christmas dinner. Following that this evening I took the time out to mix up what will probably be my last podcast. We do however intent to cram one more Trance & Progressive podcast in before the new year arrives!

I have to say going through the releases for this last Monday 25th October there were A LOT of high quality releases made available, actually an unusual amount. I’ve been waiting ages for the release of Aruna – Let Go. Also another HUGE track on the podcast is Mike Nichol – So Far Away, a seriously banging euphoric vocal track (right on the end of the mix)!

As for me it’s been a strange week, I am off to Tenerife in 2 days time for some serious R&R, sun, sea, sand and basically caning it. So this for me is my last mix for 2 weeks, for next week I’ll leave you in the capable hands of DJ Minorthreat.

Anyway one plus point of being away from the decks a few weeks is that it was a lot of fun for me comiling the best in new Euhporic and vocal Trance from the last 6 weeks or so. I can certainly say there are some great new tracks out there. My favourite this week on the mix has to be Breakfast – Every Night (feat Jeaninne Hebb). The saxaphone hook in that track is not only unusual, its very catchy.

Also on the mix is a great new track from M6 & Willem Van Hanegem – Genesis. A new sound from M6 for me and a style I hope he continues with.

Hello once again, welcome to Episode 29 of the Impact DJs Trance and Progressive podcast. This week its me Andy Jackson taking you through some of the new Euphoric Trance releases avalable from 16th August onwards. As such we have tracks from ReOrder, Danial Kandi, Fast Distance & Claudia Cazacu amongst others.

I think this week I have to say my favourite tune by far is ReOrder feat Stine – Biscay Bay (The Ferry Tayle Neverending Story Remix), this vocal track for me is quite a stunner and definately the best track released this week! ReOrder actually also has a weekly slot on my favourite Trance radio station Discover Trance

Another track I did like was Claudia Cazacu – Translucent. I am a fan of Claudia Cazacu anyway and this is another good release by her. A couple of the last tracks on the mix were not actually on release this week but i thought id throw in a couple of older releases just for good measure.

Been a couple of weeks since I came on here to have a good old rant about the state of the Trance scene so I thought now would be as good a night as any! And anyway its not as if the Impact blog and podcast doesnt usually have enough amazing Trance mixes to keep you beat-tastically satisfied (now i am ranting)!

Ok so first thing, the Above and Beyond Trance around the World podcast. This weeks was episode number #333 and it was amazing! It was so good I actually felt like I had to come on here and actually write about it! Admittedly Im a big fan of TATW and I even take inspiration from Above & Beyond I think they’re awesome but for me, this week was super special. Click here to listen if you want to know what I mean.

So next thing I found this week and it kind of relates to the above, does anyone know if Juventa are releasing a new artist album? I only mention this as the above said podcast aired not 1 but 2 very good Juventa tracks;

Ah yes another thing I never actually posted about, Tiesto – Victoria Park 2010. My personal review. I didnt really enjoy Tiesto that much. There I said it! Ok so Tij the big man is a legend, I am obviously never going to dispute that. But he has become so commercial now, it was actually kind of sad to see. Me and my friend Skorpio even voted with our feet and left 30 mins early as the last 30 mins of the set were basically the same stuff I can go to my local tennie-bopper crap nightclub and listen to. Not good. Even the classics – Delerium – Silence and Suburban Train were very predictable. Sorry Tiesto but I think you may have had your heyday.

Oh talking of heyday I recently saw somewhere the DJ mag top 100 vote is now open again this year and is open until 23rd September. Apparently the mp3 store Track It Down are sponsoring. So anyway just to let you all know, heres my vote and please be reminded I tend to vote for producers as well as DJ talent, to me they both attribute to an artists repotoire;

Hello once again Trance fans, welcome back to Impact DJs nd yet another week for the Trance and Progressive podcast. Episode 026 marks our first half year of Impact DJs and so far I can say I have had a lot of fun working on the mixes and making them available to the public for free!

So this week its me Andy Jackson with a combination of both Trance and Progressive tracks put together for your audio enjoyment. Favourites for me this week are a new release by 4 Strings – Sundown, im glad to see 4 Strings are still producing high quality tunes, they are a personal favourite of mine. Also that track was only released this week.

Secondly I also liked The Flyers & Mike Sonar – Supreme (Daniel Kandi Remix), really nice heavy stomping bassline on that track. Also just to keep in tribute with the classic Trance from back in the day I have added on – Future Breeze – Temple of Deams to the end ofthe mix, a great classic im sure you will all recognise.

I’m not usually one for writing blog posts that make people jealous. In fact its rare I write blog posts on here at all which is probably something I should make more effort to do. But since its summer and I’m feeling creative I thought id write something I find interesting – Tiesto!

Ok so that probably doesn’t make sense but for those of you that don’t know – DJ Tiesto is Coming to Victoria Park London on July 30th – and me Andy Jackson will be there representing Impact DJs along with a few other friends.

Tiesto (real name Tijs Verwest) is again performing this event with Pendulum providing a crowd warm up during the afternoon. This is the second time the Tiesto events machine has organized this gig. I also attended the same event last year and I have to say it was a very good event. Not only did you get 6 hours of Tiesto playing Electro and more to the point, Trance classics (think Delirium – Silence, Tiesto – Suburban Train etc!), but the whole event was very well run. For example you could actually get drinks from the token bars (doesn’t happen at all festivals)!

Also this weekend Global Gathering is happening up north in Stratford Upon Avon. Tiesto is also playing at Global and I suspect his gig in London the day before is by no means coincidence, more of a money maker I think – when in Rome to coin a phrase.

However I’m sure Victoria Park will be a very good event as long as the sun is shining and the cold drinks are flowing. I’m even going to get myself a pair of those glow stick glasses that I keep seeing around – seriously cool!

As a bonus, Tiesto being in London also tends to make the London clubs book up Trance DJs for their Friday evening entertainment for the masses. So far the best line up I have seen is @ The Gallery (MOS), with Jon O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas, Mat Zo and others playing through till 6am. Whether I have the energy after Tiesto to attend is another matter and I’m sure I will let you know in another post soon!

Hello once again fellow Trance fans. This week almost sees the completion of our first half year in business here on Impact DJs and what a first 6 months its been. Me and Minorthreat are committed more than ever to bringing you top quality Trance and Progressive as we always have and as such, this week sees something special.

Although im not one to boast, this week its me Andy Jackson back behind the decks and this week I have gone all out. In this release we have some stomping fresh tracks, taking you right through the spectrum from easy progressive up to stomping back catalogue Trance.

My favourites on release this week include Super8 & Tab – Mercy (this is a really good track / think 80s throwback male vocals!), David West – Larry Mountains 54 (Juventa Remix) which is going to be on Anjunabeats 8 and also Yuri Kane – Whirlpool, another mellow Trance track.

I honestly hope you enjoy this one, Ive already listened to it repeatedly since I recorded it Monday and still loving it to the max!

Ok enough of the self praise, I cant take all the credit for this weeks mix, I have to say there are some very good releases out at the moment. Most noticeably for me are Alt+F4 – Alt+F4 (Dan Stone Remix) – this track could well go anthemic for years to come! Also this week I really enjoyed mixing Shogun – Nothing Else Matters, a female vocal track released in June that somehow skipped under my radar (doesnt happen often!).

Also as its Ibizia season I thought it might be nice to finish up with a real Ibiza classic so just for good measure, Warrior – Warrior was dropped onto the end of the mix. A true classic that will never be forgotten!

In fact I threw in 2 or 3 old tracks for good measure, opening the set with Ralphie B – Massive (If you don’t recognise this tune then well…..).

Apart from the older tracks in there I have to say my favourite track out on release at the moment is definately 7 SKies & Kiholm – Lost & Found (Dan Stone Remix), this tune is pure Trance heaven. June is now here and sees what is the unofficial start of the Ibiza season. I tend to find that the productions and releases available around this time of year turn slightly towards the old 1998-2002 style sounds with big vocals and huge Trance synths. Therefore I have tried to add some of this style to this weeks podcast.

Welcome to Episode 16 of Impact’s podcast. This week’s hour is a real mixed bag from DJ Minorthreat, Kicking off with Ferry Corsten and arguably the glue that holds this mix together – Gerry Cueto and George Acosta. I’m loving Michael Cassette‘s stabby bassline remix of The Blizzard‘s Iselilja, Kyau and Albert‘s take on Bent‘s ‘As You Fall’, moving into some great melodic trance with George Acosta cropping up for his second of three appearances in one hour. You can’t miss Daniel Kandi‘s legendary mashup of Oceanlab and Mike Shiver‘s 2 great tracks from 2009 and it would have been plain wrong to leave out Mat Zo, who’s had amazing success with his latest tracks The Lost/The Found. This week I also went to Nerja in Spain and enjoyed a very good night out with two of my bosses. Not only did we go out but I did head out later into this beautiful town and found some random friends to party with. As I write this I only returned this afternoon and got straight on the decks to bring you release 015. A couple of photo’s of Nerja in Spain are below.

Well ok so its me Andy Jackson doing the cast this week – and what a week its been! Tough times the last few days!

Anyway this weeks podcast surprised even myself, despite not getting to start it late tonight on a Thursday. I tell you what there is nothing like a good mix to cheer you up!

So this week I have delved into the back-catalogue to try and find a few gems that fit together, regardless of the year they were released. A progressive mix building into a trance sound with Ashley Wallbridge‘s huge Chimera from a month or so ago. It’s been a couple of weeks since I last wrote a really productive impact blog post so I thought I’d get on and get a new one written! So this week I’ve decided to review the new album out from Nitrous Oxide, appropriately named Dreamcatcher.

The album was actually launched on Anjunabeats on the 5th April after some serious promoting by Anjuna. Certainly Above and Beyond had been playing some of the album’s tracks on their Trance Around the World podcast.

It was actually because of Trance Around the World that I found out that Nitrous Oxide had a new album on the way (who says advertising doesn’t work?!). It was the amazing track on the album called Follow You that really caught my attention. The vocal on that track is superb, I liked it so much so that Impact 010 has that track as the intro (click the link to listen).

Some of my other favourite tracks on there are the Album titled track Dreamcatcher, Muriwai (very chilled track) and Supra.

In all respect to Nitrous Oxide, I think this is a very, very good album, well thought-out and with a really modern set of sounding tracks. I certainly plan to air a few of them here on Impact.

As you know I was attending Trance Energy this weekend so I think its only fair I put up the pictures! But first I just wanted to say what an AMAZING time we had! I think its possibly one of the best weekends I have ever experienced and that is saying something right there! All of us brought together by Trance music.

My friend David Deen at www.discovertrance.com came with me to Trance Energy. We also met 2 Discover Trance DJs in Amsterdam on Friday night and had an absolutely awesome time. The Saturday night me and David headed down to Utrecht to attend Trance Energy.

Let me just say it was SO good, Ive never seen anything like it in my life. Above and Beyond totally blew me away. The sheer size of that event and venue combined with world class lighting, sound system and effects is out of this world. If you have never been to Jaarburs then I seriously suggest going for Trance Energy or any other similar event.

The highlights for me were Above & Beyond, Armins Video Satellite feed from New York, Ferry Tayle, Super 8 & Tab and Richard Durand in the High Contrast room.

I thought id write a quick post dedicated to my good friend David Deen (aka Firestorm) , a guy who runs www.discovertrance.com. Discover Trance is a very good (and free) trance radio station that operates 24/7 featuring both well known and amateur DJ shows from across the globe.

As well as great Trance music the site has many other useful fan features such as an amazing chatroom that allows you to get the show listings from inside the chat (use the command !shows) . It also has a hot picks section on the homepage allowing you to download the best shows directly to your desktop.

On top of that you have DJ listings and Bios, a very well thought out forum, up and coming news, oh and did I mention live listener stats from across the globe? Yes that’s LIVE listener stats in realtime!

For me Discover Trance has been a great site to use and to watch grow. I have got to know some of the DJs and it’s always a very good and friendly crowd in the chatroom. I have got to know David too, a top DJ, Programmer and above all Trance fan!

Armin van Buuren

Definitely worth noting, BBC Radio 1 will be featuring Armin van Buuren in their documentary ‘The Art Of Mixing’ this Friday.

Radio 1 followed Armin during one of his gigs, interviews him on how to prepare and plan a set and hooked him up with a small radio mix to hear Armin’s commentary of what’s going on. At the end of his set, another interview was done to reflect on the night. So if you want an inside look of a DJ’s mind, check the documentary on Radio, broadcast Friday the 26th of February from 9pm.

Anjunabeats Label

Just a little recognition due here based on some evidence found while browsing the DJ Download top 100 Trance chart. Anjunabeats were holding all 3 of the top 100 downloads on DJ Download! Now personally I think the Anjunabeats label is amazing, so is the Anjunadeep sister label.

The fact they are currently holding a top 3 / 100 in any DJ store download chart is pretty impressive. It just goes to show how good their own releases truly are at the moment.

The lineup on the night included Anjunadeep residents Kyau & Albert and Andy Moor along with Matt Zo (who in my opinion played a banging set, the best of the night).

Thouroughly enjoyed the entire night and as you can tell from the pic, we were having fun (Andy Sheridan on the left, Andy Jackson on the right).

I have checked out some of the future lineups for The Gallery and definately think I will be going back soon. Thats if Trance Energy doesnt arrive first!
